The first edition of the without comment classic standard work

with its didactical illustration as belonging “to the best this art form at the Upper Rhine in the late Gothic has produced”. Written intelligibly as manual for barber-surgeons and surgeons in the broader meaning, touching upon “the whole surgical knowledge of the time”, based on ancient tradition just as Arabic models along with their great French successors.
